What is Form 1095-C?

The Form 1095-C is the annual statement which employers file to inform the IRS regarding the insurance offered to its employees. As per the Affordable Care Act (ACA) it is necessary for ALEs (Applicable Large Employers) to provide insurance coverage to their full-time workers. They must do so by reporting it under the Section 6056.
An employer can be considered as an ALE only if it has at least 50 full time or full-time equivalent employees. It is important that employers furnish a copy of the Form 1095-C to their employees in order to describe about the insurance that is provided by them.
